Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a small team of experts, you will work with architects, engineers, system owners, product managers, and business leaders at multiple levels (from executives to mechanics) to design and deliver critical systems that enable the manufacturing and testing of our space systems, including Manufacturing Execution Systems, Smart Factory and IIOT capabilities, and Industrial Automation. You will work directly with technical leaders and system owners, senior leaders within various business domains, software engineers, and system administrators. Through these partnerships, you will ensure all requirements are met and the digital ecosystem of Blue Origin is balanced and serves as a strategic enabler of our business.We are looking for an inspiring and innovative Solution Architect, who can drive collaboration across business, engineering, and operations groups to improve efficiency and accelerate innovation!Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business partners to identify business problems, generate ideas to solve novel problems, test hypotheses through rapid prototyping, and establish target state architecture to achieve business goals.Employ the latest research and industry standard methodologies in the problem domain to craft innovative and repeatable solutions.Proactively engage with federated development teams, earning their trust through providing tactically useful input.Define and maintain reference architectures and design patterns to accelerate new architectures, designs, and implementations.Solution, implement, and operationalize new COTS and custom software capabilities; curate a library of enterprise solutions necessary for business operations available to all Blue Origin development teams.Be the change agent to adopt new solutions to drive efficiency and enable the mission.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.5 years of software architecture experience including cloud-native scalable distributed systems.Firsthand, repeated experience making architectural decisions followed by firsthand experience supporting evolving customer needs within the architectures delivered.Demonstrable experience with microservices-based solution design, delivery, support, and continuous improvement.Demonstrable experience working in a highly secured and interconnected environment of SaaS, IaaS, and On-Prem software solutions.Experience designing modern manufacturing and smart factory systems.Ability to deliver incremental and individually valuable steps toward a coherent scalable architecture and quickly absorb information in an unfamiliar domain and translate it into software.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:
Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, or a field related to the responsibilities.Manufacturing and/or Aerospace industry experience.Safety Critical Systems design/development experience.Experience with sophisticated Manufacturing and Testing Operations.SysML/UML Modeling experience, Unified Architecture Frameworks, and C4 diagramming techniques.Inclusivity StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
