Job Description - Sr Research Operations Program Manager DOM Channing (3311129)
The Channing Division of Network Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School are seeking applicants for Research Operations Manager to drive the RECOVER Systems Biology Initiative, led by Associate Professor Jessica Lasky-Su. The RECOVER Long COVID initiative aims to understand, prevent and treat incidence of chronic effects of COVID-19. Working closely with Associate Professor Jessica Lasky-Su, the Research Operations Manager will be an innovative leader to help establish and foster a collaborative research structure. Reporting to the RECOVER Sys Bio team, the goals of this position include the following:
Assist with day-to-day operations and execute decisions made by the RECOVER Sysbio team.
Oversee functions of Operations, Review and Working Groups.
The candidate is expected to have a proven track record of research.
The Channing Division of Network Medicine represents a diverse and highly collaborative research community that is focused on deciphering the etiology of complex diseases. The lab benefits from active collaborations with computational, biostatistical, and networking experts. We also work with state-of-the-art laboratories for the generation of ‘omics’ data and have established bioinformatic pipelines for cleaning and preparing data for analysis. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the RECOVER PIs, DRC and CDNM IT to develop plans to help internal and external investigators execute their scientific vision.
Oversee daily RECOVER SysBio operations, providing direction to ensure process efficiency and quality assurance.
Identify and address staffing requirements, assisting with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of support staff.
Maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains faculty and staff, while driving the research mission.
Serve as the point person to facilitate communication with stakeholders, investigators, and research cores.
Analyze complex research issues, identify possible solutions and make informed decisions.
Increase timeliness of project by acting as the main point of contact for external groups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of progressive management experience.
Master’s degree and equivalent work experience required, PhD or other advanced degree preferred.
Experience in Public Health, Epidemiology, Healthcare Management or other related field required.
Demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies, diverse study designs, biospecimen and data collection, and ethical considerations.
Ability to work both independently and foster collaboration.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines.
