With a thorough understanding of cartographic standardization principles, best practices, and procedures, a skilled cartographer can turn map data into valuable information. If that sounds like you, we have an opportunity for you to use your geospatial analysis skills to transform intelligence community and the national security industries.As a cartographer at Booz Allen, you’ll work with a team of graphic designers, cartographers, and intelligence analysts to extract meaning and context from various data sources. Using resources like ArcGIS and Map Publisher, you’ll develop new ways to find patterns and connections to answer our client needs.On our team, you’ll also use your skills to maintain and create geographic databases, including shapefiles, hard copy maps, rasters, vectors, imagery, and geographic data, and distribute needed files to designers in the appropriate formats. Conduct cartographic-based requests for the client. Your visualization skills will come in handy as you build density graphics and heat maps to make sure the intelligence analyst and senior briefers have the timely information they need.Work with us as we turn data into knowledge to support our warfighters, protect our national security, and inform our nation’s leaders.Join us. The world can’t wait.You Have:6+ years of experience with cartographyExperience with using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint, Adobe Suite, ArcGIS, Map Publisher plug-in, Google Earth, and KMLKnowledge of cartographic design principles, including color theory and symbology, map projections, thematic and statistical mapping, topographic and reference mapping, display hierarchies, typography, and data generationKnowledge of GIS principles, including data types, data layers, basic geographic, analytic, and statistical functions, geographic coordinate systems, and data formattingAbility to apply IC and DoD classification guidelines and proceduresAbility to use cartography tools, including ArcGIS Maps, ArcGIS Pro, Remote View, and ArcMapAbility to collect, analyze, and integrate geographic and substantive data into an effectively designed cartographic productActive TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph examBachelor's degree in Cartography, Geography, or Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)Nice If You Have:Ability to get work done in a rapidly changing and task-oriented environmentAbility to pay strict attention to detailAbility to be flexible and learn new technologies or tools quicklyAbility to work in a dynamic multi-contractor environmentPossession of excellent interpersonal skillsClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.Compensation:At Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
