OverviewProvides professional meteorological services to clients and internal forensic experts. Performs mainly desktop review and analysis of meteorological data for residential and commercial property damage, accident reconstruction, mechanical, electrical, and industrial incidents, and premises and liability matters. Applies meteorological knowledge to engineering problems encountered in construction and field projects. Works under general supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.
Essential Job FunctionsCollection and analysis of meteorological data.Collection and analysis of meteorological data during catastrophic weather events.Supports company operations prior to and during severe weather events.Supports and assists Rimkus Consultants access and obtain meteorological data.Performs forensic evaluations of various weather events (hail, wind, rainfall, snowfall, etc.).Supports professional engineers with meteorological evaluations.Writes clear and concise meteorological reports of findings for clients.Interprets research data to recommend further action for study.Investigates weather-related claims as appropriate.Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and CertificationsBS Meteorology (Atmos Sciences)Background/work experience in forecasting (3-5 years preferred)Proficiency in analyzing Doppler Radar dataMust possess a solid background in forensic meteorology
Required Skills and AbilitiesRemains well versed in new technologies that enhance communications with customers and company clients.Able to communicate findings regarding meteorological analysis clearly and concisely to clients and consultants.
