We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Prefabrication Assembler to join our team.
This position requires a seasoned professional with strong skills in fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components, particularly ductwork, for various applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of different material types, gauges, and assembly techniques, and be adept at interpreting prints and drawings.
Responsibilities:Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components including spiral, square, and rectangular ductwork.Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.Utilize tape measures, shears, plasma cutters, welding equipment, impact drivers and other tools to cut, manipulate and assemble sheet metal.Work with various material types and gauges, including galvanized and stainless steel.Proficiently use S&D (Slip and Drive) and TDF (Transverse Duct Flange) applications.Cut in taps and apply duct sealant as necessary.Work with multiple trades within the shop to install ductwork on multi-trade assembliesCollaborate effectively with team members and work independently to meet project deadlines.Follow all safety protocols and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Responsible for tracking and logging time per task.Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.Adapt to changing work environments and tasks as directed by supervisors.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.3 - 5 Years ExperienceReliable transportation to and from work.Able to work full-time (40 hours per week) on a consistent basis.Ability to wear and adhere to appropriate PPE requirements.Proven experience as a skilled sheet metal worker, fabricator, or installer.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.Proficiency in using tape measures and other precision measuring instruments.Experience fabricating and installing spiral, square, and rectangular ductwork.Familiarity with S&D and TDF applications and techniques.Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others or independently in a shop environment.
