Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an Assistant Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems Engineer to join our team in Buffalo, NY office to help deliver instrumentation and control system designs for water and wastewater projects to our clients locally and across the Northeast and Midwest.As an Instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineer, you will apply your unique skills and insights as part of project teams that span the Northeast and Midwest Region and across the United States. Your I&C skills will support designs for complex wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems. The candidate will work under the direct supervision of a more senior engineer, collaborate with engineers from other disciplines, and move into a project lead role as experience is gained.Responsibilities:Develop I&C system designs for the water and wastewater industry with the potential for Human Machine Interface and Programmable Logic Controller programming/configuration work.Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system architecture drawings, equipment layout, and control panel installation details.Prepare instrumentation and control system specifications and cost estimates for projects.Perform quality reviews of BIM models, Revit families, and CAD-based files used in the production of contract documents.Inspect, test, and approve I&C work provided by contractors at water and wastewater facilities.Minimum Qualifications:EIT2 to 5 years of experienceMust know how to use AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant 3D or be willing to learn.Candidate must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Must be proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).CADD and other software (GIS, etc.) skills are a plus.Educational Requirements:B.S. degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university (MS or ME in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on instrumentation and controls preferred).
