Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.
Our Team
Management and Strategy is a team within Global Banking & Markets - Public Compliance (GBM Public Compliance), that is responsible for leading GBM Public Compliance in executing the program's strategy. This includes program monitoring, issue escalation, communications, regulatory engagement and resource management. We are looking for a team member who can help execute our strategic program holistically as part of the management team. We are looking for someone who is equal part visionary and executor. At times, the role will require you to navigate and problem solve with multiple teams and stakeholders bearing in mind timelines and a senior audience.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
An ideal candidate would be able to:
Develop and track key business plans and strategic program plansExecute GBM Public Compliance Management key priorities and deliverablesExecute communications strategy to both GBM Public Compliance and our FICC and Equities BusinessesOversee and manage global projects and initiativesManage and report on program performance metricsExecute creative solutions to improve and optimize operational processes and increase efficiency across the programLeverage strong communication and relationship-building skills in frequent interaction with other areas of the firm, in particular, senior stakeholdersDemonstrate resiliency and creativity when under pressure and when managing time-sensitive demands from competing stakeholdersDemonstrate very strong written and oral communication, as well as analytical abilitiesBe detail-oriented, so as to consistently produce accurate work productWork independently and exercise strong judgment when executing an assigned taskMulti-task and have the ability to manage and advance multiple projects simultaneouslyIdentify and effectively escalate potential issues to appropriate person(s)Meet tight deadlines and comfortably operate in the face of time constraintsPersistently follow-up with colleagues to ensure that appropriate information is obtained and timely recordedBe a high energy and collaborative team playerQualifications

Salary RangeThe expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
