The Director of NGS & Molecular Assays is responsible for leading NGS and molecular assays efforts to support R&D activities at ArsenalBio. This role is responsible for the pipeline of both routine and novel NGS methods and molecular assays. This individual will report to the VP of Molecular Biology and will work closely with other R&D teams, QA, Process Sciences, Technical Operations, and preclinical and clinical translational groups to bring new cell therapy products to market.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead R&D team effectively to produce a pipeline of both NGS and molecular assays
Develop assays to support discovery biology and IND-enabling research activities
Provide guidance and technical expertise to all ArsenalBio teams
Support product development and regulatory filings for pivotal clinical studies
Manage the completion of project deliverables and maintain timelines
Manage internal resource allocation and external collaborations
Prepare and review sections of INDs, abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and technical reports
Contribute to scientific and strategy discussions to advance and enhance ArsenalBio’s platform and product candidates
Manage CROs to implement NGS and molecular biomarker assays to progress ArsenalBio’s programs efficiently to the clinic
Manage NGS operations, resources, and budgets
WHO YOU ARE
Ph.D. in a life science field with experience in NGS and molecular assay technology development, with 9+ years of relevant work experience and 7+ years of management experience, is preferred. MA/MS: Industry experience 14+ years required, BS/BA: Industry experience 16+ years required.
Proven track record of managing high-performing teams of scientists and research associates
Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to build and retain an effective team as a proven mentor, coach, motivator, and manager
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional matrixed environment
Deep understanding and experience with NGS platforms
Significant direct experience with single-cell sequencing, including 10x Genomics and SPLiT-seq approaches
Must have excellent troubleshooting, organization, and planning skills, and the ability to work under timelines in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence senior executives, and the capacity to develop, communicate, advocate for, and execute a scientific strategy
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to credibly represent the company to external constituents, including KOLs, investors, and regulators
An outstanding work ethic coupled with an engaging disposition and solid entrepreneurial drive

The estimated base salary offer for the preferred primary location of San Francisco Bay area ranges from $194,300- 238,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary from this range. Base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, experience, education, and location. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
