SCOPE OF ROLE
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Category Management and is responsible for the strategic management of our global machined component product category. This position will provide global category leadership, aligning with segment and regional category teams and working closely with segment and divisional product leaders, operations and other key stakeholders to deploy strategies that drive value and sustainability in our supply chain. This is a hybrid role based out of either Rosemont, IL or Milwaukee, WI.RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, organizes, directs, controls and communicates all strategic sourcing activities related to assigned commodities and services to cross functional supply, engineering, technical support and operations groupConducts brainstorming sessions at facilities with cross functional teams to identify strategic opportunities and deployment priorities on cost saving initiativesProvides oversight to sourcing/project managers on the deployment of projects with internal and external stakeholdersCollaborates with global and regional supply teams to identify, screen and qualify strategic suppliersWorks with global facilities to create regional and global material cost savings funnels that align with corporate strategies and financial targetsDrives spend analysis, including counter measures for projects that fall short of plan and makes decisions to remedy the issues to get the teams back on track to meet or exceed planDevelops and delivers category strategies that will deliver on strategic sourcing initiatives including year over year cost savingsProactively assesses internal and external process improvements and influences effective change to drive innovation and continuous improvementsCollaborates with Regal Rexnord segments on the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and owns the screening and supplier selection processNegotiates and manages supplier contracts including payment terms, deliveries, price, freight terms, currency exchange, raw material fluctuation, and inventory levelsAnalyzes market and delivery conditions to determine product present and future needs and availabilityProvides timely reporting to agreed upon KPI’s and presents Strategic Sourcing plans to stakeholdersPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
BA or BS degree is required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or EngineeringMinimum of 7 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment in a strategic Procurement/Supply Chain positionDemonstrated experience developing global sourcing strategiesProven knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, metal forming processes and gear cuttingDeep understanding of manufacturing process in relation to machined componentsUnderstanding of raw material inputs into machined and stamped componentsDemonstrated experience working in a matrix driven organization and in managing categories at a global levelExperience managing and negotiating external machining processesDemonstrated success of supplier development strategies and related performance improvementsExperience sourcing in low-cost regionsExperience working with multiple regions globallyDemonstrated success in a change management and “stretch” environmentStrong knowledge of cost modeling linked to machined component casting/fabrication processesDemonstrated consistent performance in delivering strategic sourcing KPI’s including annual cost reductions and developing and deployment of sourcing strategiesDemonstrated ability to manage complexity, making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problemsBenefits
