Technical Project Manager (Production Test)

Job Summary:The Technical Project Manager is the leading corporate representative for any testing/detection systems for our factories and suppliers. The Technical Project Manager will provide clarity and vision regarding production test strategy and implementations worldwide. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for analyzing new products to determine and implement appropriate manufacturing test processes and detections. The Technical Project Manager will design, implement, maintain, and improve factory production test systems. The production test engineering has a leadership role in planning and executing new product introductions as they transition from design to manufacturing.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:(20%)

Provide clear leadership and vision of corporate production test strategy worldwide. This includes 5-year planning, phased milestone and project status visibility to cross-functional and corporate leadership teams. Ask for and receive Capex needed to fund Test System projects.(15%)

Provide guidance and leadership to factory production test engineers.(10%)

Design appropriate test systems for production level testing based on product specifications from Design Engineering.(10%)

Design, implement and sustain data output from production test to aid in Quality Control and SPC detections (Yields, failure codes, parametric etc.)(10%)

Coordination and/or building of test systems including test fixtures, programming stations, cables, and Software.(10%)

Lead the production implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of test, FW/SW programming and provisioning systems. Drive activities to closure with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Project Management, Process Engineering, Quality).(5%)

Lead Sustainment of production test systems for production lines: Includes fixture/cable repair, SW update, validation, troubleshooting and training.(5%)

Ensure effective and validated ECO and change management of products in production including HW/SW/FW changes made to product are implemented within production test.(5%)

Prioritize and triage production test failures and provide guidance to teams for failure analysis.(5%)

Train, audit and/or validate equipment worldwide as needed.(5%)

Consistently identify, plan, and implement improvement projects focused on production test processes that influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness, and product/system quality. Create and maintain standardized test systems and process documentation in accordance with corporate production test requirements.Lead the implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of engineering designed firmware/software update and provisioning tools.Education and Experience Profile:Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, HW/SW or related field plus 7-10 years technical experience with duties directly involving production testing a high-volume manufacturing environment.Direct Experience in multi-factory test system implementations.Experience in flow process design, lean manufacturing, and six sigma methodologies. (Poka Yoke).Experience with test fixtures, Cabling, flashing FW, SW, serialization, traceability implementations.Demonstrates leadership & interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with others positively.Estimated percentage of travelling required 15% (including international)Required Skills:Capital requests, Return on Investment analysis.Project Management leadership in a matrix organization.SW / FW flash and testing within production environments.HW electrical testing within production environments.Traceability and Serialization methods.Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply statistical tools and methods to problem solving in a quality or process improvement arena.Excellent leadership, positive interpersonal skills, and effective presentation abilities.Working conditions are normal for a production/office environment. However, travel conditions include prolonged flights, car travel, and other exposures such as unusual weather or food, as expected during international travel.
