In this role, the successful candidate gives input for planning, executes against resource plans and budgets. Participates in and oversees staff responsible for providing and maintaining a reliable technical infrastructure to effectively serve the customer community. This may include running, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems, servers, networks, and/or desktop environments; responding promptly and effectively to customer problems and either directly resolving the problems or escalating to the appropriate resource and monitoring its effective resolution. Provides work direction and reviews work as needed.Job Responsibilities:Reporting to the Senior Director of Network Services, the Associate Director of Network Engineering is responsible for setting solution strategies, engineering design, implementation and operationalizing best practices around our network systems technology platforms.The Associate Director of Network Engineering partners with architecture teams to align various network solutions to meet our application and business needs.This role will provide structure and leadership to manage team priorities, streamline work efforts, manage business expectations and communicate status to leadership.The individual should be comfortable working across all of NYU Langone Health’s business units to implement, enhance and maintain secure applications delivery.Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:Manage a technical team of engineers to provide network systems solutions.Work closely with MCIT architects to formulate strategies on how Network Systems platforms can improve our enterprise security posture.Develop network systems connectivity solutions to support enterprise applications.Perform proactive capacity planning reviews of network systems resources.Assess the latest market trends and evaluate how they may be incorporated into our strategy.Communicate effectively within and across multiple teams including vendors as required.Drive cultural change and increase collaboration levels within the organization.Provide leadership across the function, while driving performance improvement, building technical capability and developing talent.Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a 10 or more years of experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent. Prior supervisory experience is required.Preferred Qualifications:10 or more years of relevant IT work experience in the Networking Field.Strong hands on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco hardware, IP Routing and Switching.Knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Great people skills are a must.NYU Langone Health provides its staff with far more than just a place to work. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
