Location: Chicago, ILTime Type: Full timePosted on: Posted 30+ Days AgoJob Requisition ID: JR26441DepartmentProvost URA: Opt-In Post-Award ServicesAbout the DepartmentUniversity Research Administration is responsible for reviewing and providing institutional endorsement for all proposals to federal and other external sponsors (excluding gifts), ensuring compliance with University policies and sponsor terms and conditions.Job SummaryURA Sponsored Development Services (SDS) provides pre-award support for opt-in partners across campus at The University of Chicago. URA Sponsored Program Services (SPS) provides post-award support for faculty members' funded research portfolios, assisting with administrative and financial matters.The Sponsored Program Specialist is responsible for all duties of a departmental post-award grant specialist, primarily involving financial management of a faculty member’s sponsored research funding. The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions.ResponsibilitiesWorks directly with PIs or their delegates to facilitate management of grant activities, including expenditure and budget reviews.Notifies PIs of availability of funds while assisting in financial and project activities.Prepares monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly reports as necessary.Interacts with participants, external entities, sponsors, and other University offices.Assists in training personnel on research administration operational policies.Works with pre-award staff to follow projects from pre-award to post-award stages.Participates in multi-disciplinary projects related to Post-Award Services.Tracks project timelines and provides timely reports to PIs and sponsors.Assists with maintaining compliance for Animal and Human Subjects protocols.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum QualificationsEducation:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.Preferred QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor's degree in business or liberal arts field.Experience:

Minimum three years of experience in sponsored research administration.Technical Skills or Knowledge:
