The Director, Logistics & Distribution Product Line Leader is a pivotal role within the Global Logistics organization. This leader will be responsible for driving innovation and operational excellence across key logistics and distribution initiatives, including 3PL integration, Visibility Concepts, Control Tower, Trade Compliance Systems, IoT, Lane Validation, and other strategic projects to optimize global logistics. The role entails orchestrating cross-functional collaboration to ensure that logistics systems and processes are agile, compliant, and aligned with the company’s Global Supply Chain Strategy.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Serve as an integral part of the Global Logistics team within the Supply Chain Excellence community, ensuring alignment and integration of logistics initiatives with digital transformation efforts, strategic objectives, and operational processes across the organization.
Build and enhance the capability to assess the end-to-end financial impact of logistics systems, processes, and technology implementations. Demonstrate that logistics strategies deliver measurable improvements to the company’s P&L and ROCE, driving long-term value for the enterprise.
Drive system integration efforts for third-party logistics providers (3PL), focusing on the seamless alignment of distribution processes with global logistics platforms.
Lead visibility solutions, including the setup of a centralized Control Tower system for enhanced real-time data and decision support across the logistics network.
Enhance trade compliance through advanced software tools and systems, ensuring global regulatory requirements are seamlessly integrated into logistics workflows.
Utilize IoT technology to improve logistics processes by developing systems that enhance shipment tracking, data collection, and lane validation mechanisms.
Drive system-based lane validation processes to optimize route efficiency, incorporating software-driven analysis for cost-effective and secure transport solutions.
Oversee the automation of logistics processes, focusing on deploying touchless systems and planning software to minimize manual interventions and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems and software solutions are integrated effectively, supporting broader logistics and distribution initiatives.
Develop and monitor system performance metrics, leveraging software analytics to continuously improve logistics and distribution processes.
Lead the creation of a global community of practice, focused on driving standardization and system alignment across logistics platforms and processes.
Community of Practice:
Establish and lead communities of practice to foster knowledge sharing and best practices in Site Supply Chain activities.
Facilitate regular meetings, workshops, and forums to engage stakeholders and drive process improvements.
Planning Performance Metrics:
Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply planning processes.
Analyze performance data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Site Supply Chain Operations Automation and Touchless Planning:
Lead the implementation of automation and support global End to End touchless planning initiatives.
Evaluate and integrate advanced technologies to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention.
Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
A BS in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related technical field; a Master's degree or higher is preferred.
At least 12 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Digital, with a focus on process and system management.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with global 3PL integrations, transport management systems, logistics visibility platforms, and trade compliance systems.
Knowledge of advanced technologies like IoT for logistics optimization.
Proven ability to lead and manage large-scale change initiatives within logistics and distribution environments.
Demonstrated success in working with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with global distribution regulations.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a strategic approach to overcoming logistical challenges.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
