POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Apprentice will work under the direction of an Electrician performing installations, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with safely planning and completing Main Panel Upgrades (MPU)Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting system components to resolve electrical issuesEnsure work performed is of good craftsmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codesAssist with diagnosing and troubleshooting system components to resolve electrical issuesEnsure work performed is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codesDetermine when additional material is required to complete jobDocument project by taking photos and completing work ordersMaintain Company vehicle stocked with proper tools and equipmentMaintains adherence to Company policies, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practicesIdentifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and managementFollow OSHA, NEC, AHJ and Utility requirementsEnsure job sites are left cleanPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certifications:
Must possess or obtain an Apprentice License within state of employment if applicableMinimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience preferredHigh School Graduate or GEDExperience:
Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panelsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelinesMust be experienced with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical tradeAbility to read and interpret single line drawingsMust maintain a clean driving record and valid state driver's licenseSpecial Skills & Training:
Working knowledge of current NEC codesPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES
