The

Learning and Development Coordinator

is a key member of the English Language Programs team (ELP). This position's primary role is supporting the planning, production, and facilitation of professional development opportunities for ELP participants and alumni, all of whom are professionals in the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) with M.A or higher degrees. The Learning and Development Coordinator reports directly to the Learning and Development Manager.English Language Programs, funded by the U.S. Department of State, places experienced U.S. TESOL professionals at educational institutions on short- and long-term assignments in all regions of the world, conducted both in-country and virtually. Participants in the Fellow, Specialist, and Virtual Educator Programs promote English language learning and mutual understanding through cultural exchange. The Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED) at Georgetown University is the current administrator of English Language Programs.Responsibilities

Collaboration and Planning:

The L&D Coordinator works with the L&D Manager to develop team projects, determine which projects will need to contract consultants for course design and implementation, and assist in preparing RFPs for institutions and individuals, as appropriate, to conduct the classes, produce the online and in-person sessions, and prepare all necessary course materials, documentation, and reports. The L&D Coordinator also works closely with the IT Projects team on COP and LMS maintenance and enhancements to ensure the platforms serve all the needs of L&D projects. As needed, the L&D Coordinator collaborates with other teams (Fellow, Specialist, Virtual Educator, Outreach), ECA, and other stakeholders, as needed, to ensure L&D projects represent cross-team objectives and project roles are distributed across teams as necessary.Project Management and Course Production:

The L&D Coordinator is responsible for onboarding course developers and presenters; coordinating review of course components such as script writing and review, session rehearsals, session videography and preparation of necessary course materials, documentation, and reports; guiding presenters through all stages of implementation, ensuring that the project presents the most current and relevant approaches in the TESOL field; building and testing courses in the program Learning Management System (LMS) housed on the ELP online community of practice (COP); supporting planning, moderation, and grading of asynchronous and synchronous sessions and courses; facilitating and/or moderating live sessions, supporting all digital platforms; and coordinating all aspects of participant engagement, including Calls for Participation, registration, attendance, certificates, follow-on, etc.Other duties:

The L&D Coordinator performs administrative duties related to L&D projects, including, but not limited to, processing procurement documentation for contractors and submitting invoices for payment; prepares program summaries, analytics and data visualization, including but not limited to semi-annual reports; follows GU, CIED, and federal rules and regulations regarding use of grant funds, building and following ECA approved budgets for every project; backstops team members while they are out of the office; takes on temporary duties when team members leave their positions; participates in the onboarding and training process of new members; and performs other duties as assigned.Work Interactions

The

Learning and Development Coordinator

is a key member of the 28-person ELP team at CIED. The team consists of six units, each unit with its own manager and a cadre of coordinators supporting the work of the respective manager. Learning and Development is one of the six units within ELP and the Learning and Development Coordinator is instrumental to ELP's development and implementation. The Learning and Development Coordinator works closely with the Learning and Development Manager and consultants. The position directly supports DOS goals of building friendly, peaceful relations between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through academic, cultural, and professional exchanges, which aligns with the GU principle that serious and sustained discourse among people of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs promotes intellectual, ethical and spiritual understanding.Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience required (or equivalent combination of education and work experience) in TESOL or related fieldExperience with curriculum design and online course development, preferably using an LMS platform, such as LearnDashKnowledge of digital technology platforms for the purposes of managing online communitiesOutstanding interpersonal communications skills with the ability to understand, synthesize and conceptualize input and requests from multiple stakeholdersExcellent writing and editing skills for the preparation of online materials, administrative reports, correspondence, and program textAbility to independently establish objectives, and plan, direct, and evaluate all aspects of work projectsExceptionally strong organizational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software applicationsAbility to travel both in the United States and internationally, as neededPreferred Qualifications

Alumnus or alumna of the U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow, Specialist or Virtual Educator ProgramsExperience working with federally funded exchange programs and/or educational programsExperience living and working overseasWork Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Telework. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. The employee will have to come to Georgetown University/CIED when requested by their supervisor and/or the CIED/ELP Program Directors.Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $47,586.00 - $87,558.13. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.Submission Guidelines:
