Position Summary:The Director of Educational Services leads a diverse and inclusive team of dedicated professional staff that facilitate comprehensive educational services for immigrants and refugees. These services support integration of immigrants through English language acquisition, attainment of knowledge and skills that lead to greater self-sufficiency including employment and other educational outcomes such as preparation for citizenship. The Director supervises the Educational Services team and is responsible for ongoing operations and leadership of departmental services. The Director also oversees a rigorous quality improvement effort to ensure effective and best-of-class services are being provided to those served by the department.

Essential Job Functions:

Employ servant leadership to ensure effective delivery of all programs and services within the Educational Services Department, including programming of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), including services offered in Greater Cincinnati and Springfield, OH.

Engage in strong cross-departmental communication to ensure seamless integration with programs and staff of Su Casa Hispanic Center and Refugee Resettlement Services.

Participate in regular migrant and refugee leadership team meetings in collaboration with the COO.

Engage the broader community in the work of Educational Services through stakeholder outreach, education, and coordination with external partners.

Coordinate with the Parish and Community Engagement Coordinator and Mission Advancement Director to speak to groups of donors and stakeholders about Educational Services and Catholic Charities.

Promote and encourage strong volunteer and donor engagement.

Create opportunities for volunteer engagement through teaching and tutoring opportunities.

Oversee the implementation and coordination of professional development and training for staff and volunteers.

Foster diversity and inclusion among Educational Services team members and those served by Educational Services, creating an environment of respect toward diverse languages, cultures, and beliefs.

Plan and coordinate ongoing quality improvement of provided services, including quarterly chart audits and satisfaction surveys.

Collaborate with Grants Coordinator to develop, complete, and report on grants.

Develop departmental and programmatic budgets, plans, and reports in collaboration with the CFO and COO, including individual grant applications, grant reports, logic models, and annual plans.

Prepare records and other reports to comply with all government and funder requirements including audits, monitoring, and other program services.

Supervise and support the annual implementation of Vacciones Utiles, a six-week summer camp program for Hispanic/Latino children.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, and/or second language instruction, or related field.

Minimum of four years of experience working with immigrant populations.

Three years of supervisory experience.

Evidence of servant leadership, that is, putting the needs and well-being of those being supervised as a top priority.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Ability to manage various tasks and priorities.

Ability to build trust on teams.

Demonstrated commitment to leadership supporting diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Proficient in the utilization of Salesforce (or similar software) and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or endorsement in TESOL/ESL.

Master’s degree in education, literacy, and/or second language instruction, or related field.

Fluency, written and/or spoken, in a language other than English that is spoken by various immigrant populations, including, but not limited to, Spanish, French, Arabic, Tigrinya, Swahili, etc.
