We are seeking a Water Quality Scientist to join our team and help deliver a diverse range of water resource related services. This includes projects for cities, counties, state and federal agencies, Tribes, and private clients throughout the west coast and Rocky Mountains. This position will support our Water practice area for water quality, stormwater and sediment related projects, regulatory compliance, and planning. Typical projects involve the development of quality assurance project plans, coordination of field sampling, management and analysis of compiled data, and preparation of summary reports. Projects may also involve development of management strategies for a wide range of water bodies and environmental settings (e.g., develop lake management plans).In this role we will count on you to:Manage projects related to field investigations for water quality, stormwater, and sediment quality, including the preparation of sampling and analysis plans (SAPs) and quality assurance project plans (QAPPs).Oversee implementation of monitoring projects to characterize pollutant concentrations, and determine the efficacy of related control or treatment strategies and best management practices.Coordinate field sampling activities for staff engaged in water, stormwater, and sediment sampling.Oversee implementation of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews and manage compiled sample chemistry and flow data.Prepare summary reports for field studies.Other duties you will be responsible for:Provide support to clients for compliance with National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and other stormwater and discharge regulatory permits.Compare water and sediment data to applicable Water Quality Standards and Sediment Management Standards.Conduct limnological studies and assess lake treatment strategies.Assist in the development of management strategies for improving water quality of receiving waters, stormwater, and sediment quality.Conduct business development collaboratively with coworkers.Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, & Licensure/Certifications4+ years of relevant water quality, stormwater, and sediment experience.Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, environmental studies, hydrology, limnology, geology, or similar field.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesCommitment to staying current with technical and regulatory developments.Strong team collaboration, clear written and verbal communication abilities, and excellent organizational skills.Ability to interact with clients, contractors, and other consultants.Preferred Qualifications
