Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational performance of all CAID sites within the organization. Lead strategic planning, coordination, and execution to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability across all sites. Ensure sites are aligned and meet division and corporate objectives.ResponsibilitiesMulti-Site Oversight:

Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple sites, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with organizational goals.Safety and Compliance:

Role model, prioritize and enforce company safety protocols and regulatory compliance at all sites to ensure a safe and secure working environment.Leadership:

Lead and mentor site managers and teams to foster a culture of safe workplace practice, excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Support individuals and teams through change. Uphold Samuel Policies and Values. Displays a good understanding of key aspects of the organization’s mission and strategies; and is able to convey this information in a manner that it is relatable to direct reports. Ensure priorities of Safety, Quality, and Productivity are maintained at the forefront of all activities.Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all sites adhere to company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements to maintain high-quality operations. Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.Continuous Improvement:

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, seeking out new opportunities to enhance operations and customer satisfaction. Actively participate in company-wide strategic planning and implementation.Process Optimization:

Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. Develop daily production schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to achieve customer expectations; particularly as they relate to product quality and delivery specifications.Financial Accountability:

Collect and understand important data used for financial metrics drawing accurate conclusions from information; makes sound decisions regarding expenditures. Execute the Annual Operations Budget to ensure labor cost and expense targets are met; perform monthly Gap Analysis on budget variance, report root cause, and report corrective actions.Resource Allocation:

Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and budgets, to achieve optimal site performance. Establish and maintain a high-quality workforce through recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, competitive compensation, and ensuring accountability to enable the Samuel culture.Performance Metrics:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for each site and regularly monitor and report on performance against these metrics. Track and diagnose all plant KPIs to meet the goals of the division (Productivity, Scrap, Returns, etc.)Problem Solving:

Address operational challenges and resolve issues promptly, working collaboratively with site managers and cross-functional teams. Encourage individuals and teams to see the big picture, draw on each other’s strengths and experience to work collaboratively across the organization, set expectations, delegate responsibilities, and provide accurate and helpful feedback. Deploy and lead team-based problem-solving groups using modern methods (DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Brainstorming, etc.) to eliminate productivity issues.Strategic Planning:

Lead and execute the organization's operational strategy in line with broader business goals. Develop a capital plan for plant maintenance and strategic site objectives. Manage capital projects to upkeep the plant or operations, from requesting funds to project completion. Implement the approved capital budget annually.Communication:

Maintain clear and effective communication channels between sites and with senior leadership to ensure alignment and transparency. Share information and viewpoints openly and directly with others, both written and verbal.Vendor and Supplier Relations:

Work with department leads to ensure there are established relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure necessary resources and services for site operations.Senior Site Leader:

Assume daily leadership and decision-making across all departments both directly and indirectly reporting to this role. Communicate with SESG senior leaders as to departmental status.Commercial Sales:

Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment between customer requirements, project objectives, available resources, and business targets, fostering the achievement of collective goals.Other duties as required.Education and CertificationsCompletion of post-secondary education, with a major in Business Administration or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.QualificationsMinimum of 7-12 years of operations management experience; manufacturing facility preferred.Experience managing in a job-shop or discrete manufacturing environment within the metal forming/fabrication industry.A working understanding of business systems, manufacturing practices, and P&L management.Experience with identifying and implementing process improvement.Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications (i.e. MS Office applications).Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply.
