Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts

The position fundraises to support the mission of the Athletic Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. With a balanced program that supports equitable opportunities for all students and staff, the department promotes a total person concept that provides its student-athletes with the necessary tools to be successful in academic, athletic and social settings. The Department of Athletic supports the highest ethical standards of the University, the NCAA and conference affiliation.
Primary Purpose of PositionThe Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts will identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit gifts to forward the fundraising goals and mission of the athletic department. The director will develop, manage, and execute prospect strategies to increase donor engagement with a focus on raising gifts of $50k+ from individuals and companies in support of Charlotte Athletics’ priorities. The director will work collaboratively with and in support of staff, coaches, and administration to cultivate and solicit donors for athletic department priorities.
Summary of Position ResponsibilitiesThe individual will report directly to the Executive Director and will work in close partnership with a team of major gift fundraisers.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit and close gifts.
Knowledge of Paciolan and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to organize time, work efficiently, set and meet goals.
Strong collaboration skills.
Necessary Certifications/Licenses
Current, valid driver’s license.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Master’s Degree preferred.
