Our team recently delivered the new PlayStation Link, PULSE Explore and PULSE Elite products, and are hard at work on what comes next. We need an experienced and innovative mechanical product design engineer to help develop new products and features.Come and play with us!Responsibilities:In this role, you own the overall mechanical design for high profile product development efforts. This senior leader will be adept at hands-on mechanical design, as well as growing the capabilities of fellow team members and building strong relationships with internal and external partners.Lead overall system mechanical design, including personally implementing and delivering detailed CAD of the primary architectural elementsLead interactions with industrial design teamManage the detailed product design and validation with engineering and manufacturing partnersAnticipate and respond to challenges in manufacturingSkills:A technically strong and independent mechanical engineer with strong product design approachEngaged at both the product design level (what should it do?) and the detailed engineering level (how should it be built?)Experienced with small consumer products and new product development from initial concept through mass productionEffective bridging from a small core team working with and within large organizationsComfortable spanning from high level program strategy and management to detailed engineering implementationHands on capability in creative prototyping approaches to rapidly build low and high-fidelity prototypes for design and functional assessmentQualifications:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience10+ years of experience leading mechanical design for small consumer productsDemonstrated experience in designing detailed parts for a wide variety of manufacturing methods, such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, and CNC fabricationDemonstrated experience in applying knowledge of various materials and their properties for specific product features & requirementsDemonstrated experience in DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis techniques, and creating 2D drawingsDemonstrated experience in reliability testing & analysisExceptional CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred)Experience in the video game industry is not required, but interest and passion for gaming experience, digital entertainment, consumer electronics, and technology is vitalWorking Conditions:Small team environment; feels like a start-up within a large organization!Travel (primarily international) required.
