Hiring for multiple locations in Macomb/Oakland and Wayne Counties.

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate's degree required; Bachelor's Degree in an educational or youth-related field preferred.

In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, candidates must meet the Health and Human Services Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers Rule 400.8122, which includes various combinations of education and experience in Early Childhood Education or related fields.

Must pass all background checks required by the Department of Human Services Daycare Licensing Guidelines and Wayne State University employment policies.

Must secure Live Scan fingerprinting, provide proof of TB Skin Results from within one year, immunizations as required, and evidence of Blood-borne Pathogen Training prior to working with students.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of job-related experience required.

Experience with "At-Risk" youth preferred.

Experience and knowledge in STEM education preferred.

CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification prior to working with students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrate a mature and professional attitude in dealing with students, parents, school district staff, and community partners.

Evidence of organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills required to run effective programming and establish good relationships.

Scope of Position:

The C2 Pipeline 21st CCLC Site Lead provides direction, leadership, and supervision for all activities described in the grant application for C2 Pipeline 21st CCLC.

Assist the Multi-Level Site Coordinator in implementing high school educational activities at the assigned site, coordinating academic learning experiences, field trips, and acting as a liaison among program staff, school staff, community partners, students, and parents.

Responsible for program development and implementation, open houses, field trips, special exhibits, and performances. Supervise the assigned after-school site.

Perform daily program functions such as follow-ups on absent students, document all attempts to contact, and supervise meal distribution.

Assist with homework and lead tutoring sessions. Ensure communication between day school site and C2 Pipeline program is followed.

Maintain effective working relationships with school district personnel, students, parents, and community partners.

Manage and actively engage high school student groups, acting as a role model for participants.

Attend all mandated training and participate in additional workshops as designated by the after-school program.

Plan classes, programs, and enrichment activities; write and follow lesson plans that accompany the curriculum.

Assist with surveys, data collection, and assessments as required by the Michigan Department of Education and MSU 21st CCLC.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

NOTE:

Continued employment during the program year is based on maintaining recommended staff/student ratios.
