Head Start positions are generally Monday through Friday.JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSEERSEA - (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance)Through our Children Services Division, we work with children (ages 2 – 10) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with implementation of the Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment Attendance (ERSEA) planAssist in preparing reports and records on ERSEA activitiesAnalyze any pattern of absenteeism that falls below required levels; attend all meetings required by the funding source and agency management; prepare and submit required reports promptly and accuratelyMonitor Child+ database for any possible terminations to ensure full enrollment is reachedMonitor Child+ database daily attendance to ensure that we meet minimum 85% average daily attendance and meal count to ensure data information is complete & accurateAssist in accurately preparing and submitting required reports and administrative forms in a timely mannerAssist with record keeping of files and monitor family filesWork closely with Family Advocates and Home Visitors to input data in databaseWork as a team to establish and maintain direct communication channels among the family, program staff, FSS’s, administrative staff and community members
Must use a computerized data system to input, retrieve and update required dataStudy management methods in order to improve workflow and simplify reporting procedures
Implement program-operating practices, such as record keeping systems, personnel and budgetary requirements, and performance standards and recommend development of new systems or revision of established proceduresCoordinate collection and preparation of operating reports, such as time-and-attendance records, termination, new hires, transfers, budget expenditure, and statistical records for performance dataType correspondences, reports, memorandum, proposals, and financial statements. Maintain informational and/or operational recordsOther duties as required and subject to change at any timeQualificationsMust be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verificationsValid California driver’s license and access to dependable automobile with adequate insurance in order to make home visits and/or to travel to different school and office sitesHEALTH REQUIREMENTS:Proof at the time of hire
TB clearance within 6 months priorAnnual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 – Dec 1)Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization
Health screening at the time of employmentRequires ability to interact with children in a busy environment including, but not limited to:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.Frequently kneel and squatAbility to move quickly
EDUCATION:High School Diploma/ GED EquivalentEXPERIENCE:Minimum of 1 year of general office, administration and/or clerical experience or a formal degree or certification in Business Administration or related discipline can be combined with relevant experience to meet the time requirementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:2 years of general office, administration, and/or clerical experienceBilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal)Volunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
