POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for producing and analyzing reports to support the profitability and financial reporting functions of the credit union. May be accountable for the coordination, compilation, and distribution of financial data by junior staff. This position will conduct complex performance and opportunity assessments to inform decision-making, policy development, system development, and management. This position will sustain a key role in the design, implementation, and documentation of profitability solutions, streamline report development and production, integrate financial systems and data, and sustain and navigate ongoing evolution of financial reporting needs.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Support existing processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control request.

Problem solve issues that arise in day-to-day running of automated processes and provide timely responses and solutions as required.

Work within project planning constraints, communicate any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager accordingly and provide inputs to the change control process.

Maintain accurate employee hierarchies and vendor lists in the current Invoice/Expense Reporting platform.

Maintain spend and revenue category within the ledger account in Workday.

Provide coaching and/or mentoring to team members by sharing comprehensive knowledge of financial systems and financial subject matter while providing training and technical support for Finance’s system applications such as Workday, Concur, Adaptive Insights, Axiom, WCUFinance.com.

Prepare materials related to the monthly budget variance, branch performance, organizational profitability, and product profitability reports.

Maintain data warehouse components consisting of GL data extracts, membership totals, and loans and shares data to ensure high levels of data accuracy and availability for reporting and analysis.

Document the methodology supporting the allocation rules and analysis of the organizational and product profitability solutions.

Develop communications supporting future enhancements, and the potential use or leveraging of the Axiom system for business units and functions.

Develop and maintain specialized knowledge of accounting and financial concepts, activity-based costing, funds transfer pricing, and application to the organization’s profitability measurement process.

Produce Ad-Hoc reports as needed.

Ensure accuracy of NCUA 5300 Call Report.

Mentor and train team members.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Five (5) years of finance or accounting experience, preferably within a financial institution.

Proficiency in database platforms and languages (SQL, Oracle, Access).

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.

Proficiency in Microsoft Business Intelligence Studio (SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS).

Four (4)+ years experience of .Net programming (C#, VB Script) or Java application development.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and communications skills.

Financial statement knowledge and a moderate understanding of the structure of the credit union's balance sheet and income statements preferred.

Working knowledge of basic investment math, statistical concepts, and forecasting.

Experience and/or knowledge of Syntellis Axiom and Sendero ALM, FTP, DMS products.

Experience with Concur.

Experience with Symitar.

Familiarity with Access, SQL, and Web-based applications desired.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be proficient in technology applications including the Credit Union’s operating system and specialized software required for performance of position.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
