We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sourcing Manager specializing in upholstery to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the first hires in a newly established function, where you will play a critical role in shaping our sourcing strategy for the case goods category. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in sourcing, with a strong background in upholstery, and will be comfortable navigating change, ambiguity, and establishing processes from the ground up.Who We AreAt Bob's, we have fun, we love what we do, and it shows in our expansive growth! Collaborate closely with the Merchandising team to understand product needs and trends.Develop and execute sourcing strategies for materials and products.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.Support the negotiation of vendor contracts and terms.
Supplier Prospecting & Process Development:
Proactively identify and engage with potential new suppliers.Lead the vetting process for new suppliers.Establish and refine sourcing processes.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Merchandising team to ensure sourcing strategies meet product development needs.Support product development activities.Actively work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues.
Operational Excellence & Supplier Performance:
Monitor and manage supplier performance.Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Run regular testing exercises to ensure suppliers meet expectations.
Leadership & Change Management:
Lead efforts to establish the sourcing function.Act as a change agent, driving the adoption of new processes.Mentor and guide junior team members.
CompetenciesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis role does not currently have any direct reports but the ideal candidate will have managerial experience.Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily home-based.The role involves frequent use of phone and web conferencing tools.Collaboration is key, with regular virtual meetings.Physical DemandsThe role requires the ability to sit for extended periods.Regular use of standard office equipment.Expected Hours of Work and TravelThis position is primarily remote.The candidate will be required to travel to our home office in Manchester, CT for at least 4-6 days per month.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.5-10 years of experience in sourcing, with at least 3 years in upholstery or related industries.Proven experience in supplier management, negotiation, and contract management.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience working in a startup or a rapidly growing company.Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:$100,000 - $130,000
