A Day in the LifeThe preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Northridge, California; however, the individual may also work onsite at another US-based Medtronic facility. The person in this role is expected to be onsite three to four days per week.

The Global Site Infrastructure & Operations (SIO) organization is responsible for delivering robust IT onsite services and solutions across global manufacturing, office, and distribution sites. Our mission is to ensure local IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and aligned with global IT standards, enabling seamless operations and supporting business success.

The Senior Manager of Site Infrastructure & Operations will oversee the operational IT infrastructure across a cluster of sites within a designated geographical area. Reporting to the Head of SIO, this role will ensure adherence to global IT standards, manage local site support teams, and work closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable services. The Sr. Manager will be accountable for site performance, compliance with infrastructure standards, managing escalations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management.

Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.

Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.

Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.

Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.

Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Lead the regional site infrastructure and operations teams across a cluster of sites, ensuring alignment with global IT strategies and adherence to standards.

Drive operational stability and service performance by ensuring compliance with CMDB, ITSM processes, and global infrastructure guidelines.

Act as the primary escalation point for local issues, managing critical incidents and outages in partnership with MSPs and other IT teams.

Ensure continuous site support for end-user services, including network infrastructure, conference room setups, device standards, and local IT assets.

Lead efforts to automate site support workflows in ServiceNow, including asset inventory management, documentation, and incident resolution.

Manage and deliver on site related demand in accordance to Global IT policies and procedures.

Continuously improve operational processes to streamline engagement, increase efficiency, and enhance service delivery for local and regional teams.

Build and maintain strong relationships with local business and IT stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed through proactive communication and support.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network, manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution, to ensure seamless delivery of IT services at the site level.

Ensure regional sites comply with global security and device standards, mitigating risks related to infrastructure vulnerabilities and operational inconsistencies.

Drive cybersecurity device remediation efforts and ensure all local infrastructure adheres to global compliance guidelines.

Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance.

Support the career development of team members by providing coaching, guidance, and opportunities for learning and advancement.

MUST HAVE

(Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree

7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree

5+ years of managerial experience

NICE TO HAVE

(Preferred Qualifications)

Strongly Preferred: Previous Medtronic experience

Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed technical teams and manage service delivery through Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Knowledge of cloud and on-premise data center services

Experience in managing UPS, power supply and cabling

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (networking, server management, end-user devices) and ITSM processes (incident, problem, and change management).

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with business and IT stakeholders effectively.

Strategic Mindset: Ability to develop and execute strategies that improve site infrastructure performance and align with global IT objectives.

Experience managing escalations, critical incidents, and outages with a focus on rapid resolution and continuous improvement.

Prior experience managing infrastructure and/or infrastructure technical operations or support teams

Working knowledge of infrastructure support and implementation, specifically layer 1-7 activities

Experience with dashboarding, data analytics & visualization

Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution industries and site support and technologies.

Proficiency in ServiceNow for IT operations, particularly in asset inventory management and incident tracking.

Knowledge of device compliance, security standards, and remediation processes.

Certifications: Network CCNA, Security, ITIL certification, PMP, or other relevant project management/operations certifications.

Ability to travel up to 25-30%

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $150,400.00 - $225,600.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
