Director of Purchasing
for Hilton Atlanta plans, organizes, directs and controls all purchasing functions of the hotel to ensure that the highest quality product is purchased at the best possible price. Controls inventories at appropriate levels. Manages the RFP and bid process. Obtains bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the standards and/or department head. Determines the best possible price for the desired items and places orders for all food and non-food items. Schedules deliveries of items and monitors the quality of products received. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.Hire, supervise, train, coach, counsel and discipline purchasing staff to ensure smooth operation of all aspects of the department.Manage the RFP and bid process. Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the standards and/or department head. Determine the best possible price for the desired items and place orders for all food and non-food items.Schedule deliveries of items and monitor the quality of products received to ensure they meet the hotel’s established standards and operational needs as outlined by each department.Communicate with Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs and order all food and beverage products according to hotel needs and specifications. Forecast operational needs and schedules deliveries of all food and beverage items.Ensure all regional and corporate purchasing programs, policies and procedures are met.
