Senior Space Control Expert
KBR is seeking a Senior Space Control Expert to join our Hemisphere team. Work locations include Colorado Springs, CO and/or El Segundo, CA. Qualified applicants will serve as a trusted advisor and expert on space control functions and supporting engineering services required to enable and support the protect and defend mission set for Space Systems Command (SSC). The successful candidate will collaborate and communicate with the Hemisphere leadership team to ensure processes and products are delivered within program schedule and demonstrate depth of knowledge in new and maturing technologies as applied and used in space control system of systems integration.Critical skillsets for qualified applicants include but are not limited to:Systems Engineering for Space Control Enterprise and Space, Ground and C2 SegmentsExpertise and experience in highly classified space control ground, space, and command and control (C2) systems (concept development, system architecture, build, integration and test)Expertise in maturing technologies through all TRL levelsExpertise in multiple space control-related technologies, including, but not limited to, optical, electronic support, signal processing, and communicationsDeveloping Enterprise Roadmaps and Schedule Views for technology and capability delivery that quickly identify risks, issues, and gapsSuccessful management of Space Control Technology Risks and associated risk mitigation plans to addressSupport Transition to Prototype Operations for future Space Control technologies/systemsMajor duties of the position include:Provide innovative internal and external technical leadership, collaboration across all stakeholders, and effective communication to meet customer and program requirementsMaintain cognizance of relevant technical issues and concerns, elevate to Hemisphere and Government leadership appropriately and provide resolution recommendationsCoordinate and lead the resolution of technology issues; engage with appropriate Government and Hemisphere teams; ensure technology roadmap updates and corrections are tracked and accomplished as circumstances warrantSupport improvement and innovation for process execution, data and tool utilization, Enterprise/system architecture updates and improvementsIdentify opportunities to leverage corporate staff, teammates, processes or tools and ensure the proper collection of metrics to measure execution effectivenessQualificationsRequirements:Experience in working in classified environments on emerging technologies as applicable to space control and related technologies (optical, electronic support, signal processing, communications)Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of engineering experienceActive Top Secret SCIDemonstrated leadership skills in the Aerospace or DoD working across space and ground segment organizationsExperience serving as a team lead, project leader, or program manager on performance-based contracts for the U.S. GovernmentExperience in identification and management of risks; demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systemsExperience writing and delivering documents and briefings with effective communication skills and style that promote inclusivity of ideas as they pertain to working, interfacing, and leading multi-disciplined teams of engineersDesired:Master’s degree or MBA preferredSAP eligibleChange agent who looks at the art of the possible to bring new capability and architecture ideas enabling a system or Enterprise evolution to meet current or upcoming threats, needs, and requirementsSpace control mission and/or systems knowledge and experienceDoD or NRO programs space and ground systems engineeringModel-Based and/or Software engineering systems practicesTarget salary range for Colorado Springs:
$175,000 - $200,000Target salary range for El Segundo:
