Responsibilities
:Develops formulas, processes and methods for solution of technical problemsAnalyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical propertiesDevelops, implements and maintains a timely and effective evaluation system to ensure products meet desired specificationsConducts research to develop and improve productsPrepares technical papers and reportsPrepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products and testsProvides assistance to sales staff for interpretation of sales order applications, application design, technical drawings/blueprints and product compatibility to reduce customer complaints resulting from misapplication of productsWork closely with vendors and purchasing in the sourcing of productsMaintains records of project progress and expenditures, research finding and test resultsExperience:5+ years of Polymer experience ideally with blown plastic filmExperience conducting research in a laboratory settingPrior supervisory skillsBackground/Skills:Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field is required, minor degree in Organic Chemistry a plusBackground in Polymer Chemistry and CatalysisKnowledge of polymer fabrication and manufacturing processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to collect, analyze and interpret dataStrong written and verbal communication skills
