Manages the daily operation of activities and services at a senior center.Essential Functions:Manages the center program operations including assisting, coordinating, developing and implementing activities, classes, meal programs and special events. Ensures rooms are set up and cleaned daily according to the activity schedule and lease agreement.Monitors the program's quality and quantity. Ensures all governmental and agency regulations and policies are followed by the staff and volunteers.Recruits, trains and supervises center staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operation of the center. Coordinates volunteer support.Ensures the site is clean, attractive and safe for participants. Maintains all food, supplies and equipment inventory. Keeps furniture and equipment of the center in good working condition and arranges for repairs and maintenance as needed.Conducts basic needs assessments of older adults and disabled adults in order to provide clients with information and/or referrals to agencies which offer services that match their needs.Provides translation, information and referrals for program participants and the public.Registers all participants of the center using the intake forms. Compiles monthly reports. Conducts service surveys as needed.Collects and deposits participants’ donations and contributions for nutrition, social activities and classes. Keeps daily financial reports.Conducts community outreach to target populations to ensure that targeted communities have access to the center.Assists with the Home Delivered Meals Program operation including but not limited to conducting in-home comprehensive assessments for isolated elderly and people with disabilities to evaluate their need for home-delivered meals and their functions in various areas, and/or helping to plan and deliver meals to homebound clients as assigned.Establishes contacts and maintains good working relationships with key personnel in other agencies, including community-based service providers in the service district and county-wide providers.Attends staff meetings and other community meetings as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:College degree preferred or high school graduate with at least three years’ work experience in community service.Must be self-motivated and possess leadership skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with older adults as well as individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.Must be bilingual and bi-literate in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Internet.Must pass health screening for TB clearance.Must pass a strength test for physical fitness for the job: able to lift up to 30 pounds.Must acquire CPR and First Aid certificates within 3 months of employment and maintain current certificates thereafter.Must be able to travel via public transportation or personal vehicle for the performance of job duties.
