About the Position:

The City of San Bernardino seeks an experienced Analyst to conduct complex research and analysis on organizational structure, staffing, and operations. This role also involves developing policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone with:

Communication Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication abilities with strong interpersonal skills.

Analytical Expertise:

Advanced analytical skills and experience in implementing operational audits and budget analysis.

Knowledge of Gov. Finance:

In-depth understanding of municipal government finance and relevant laws and regulations.

People Skills:

Has a welcoming, professional, and compassionate demeanor.

Technical Proficiency:

Proficient in ERP systems and software for financial reporting, account reconciliation, and project development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:

Graduation from a four (4)-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, finance, accounting, or a closely related field.

AND

At least five (5) years of progressively responsible management and budget experience.

Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:

A valid California driver’s license is required.

Supplemental InformationBenefits:

The City offers an attractive compensation and benefits package, that includes:

Retirement - California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). Classic members: 2% at 55 | New CALPERS members 2% at 62.

Health Insurance – Monthly contribution of $1,125.00 (Employee Only), $1,377.00 (Employee plus one), or $1,841.00 (Employee plus Family) for health, dental, and vision premiums. Eligible employees who waive all medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, and supplemental AD&D benefits will receive an annual “Health Insurance Waiver Stipend” of $4,000.00 every first paycheck of December.

Vacation - 80 hours after one year, 96 hours of sick leave annually.

13 holidays, plus 18 hours of floating holiday time.

Administrative Leave - 40 hours.

Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance – The City provides Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance.

Other – Optional Deferred Compensation Plan, flexible benefits plan, pre-tax childcare plan, employee assistance program, and all other benefits which are received by Management/Confidential employees of the City per Memorandum of Understanding.
