Position Overview:We are seeking an advanced Senior Business Analyst to work across multiple projects or special initiatives as needed. In this role, you will serve as the essential link between the program/customer community and the software development team, ensuring that requirements are effectively communicated and realized. This Business Analyst will engage throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a primary focus on establishing, managing, and verifying requirements from inception through post-implementation enhancements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Requirements Elicitation and Documentation:
Conduct interviews and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to extract and define system requirements.
Draft clear and concise system requirements documents, user stories, and use cases in alignment with best practices in business analysis.
Requirements Management and Verification:
Manage and validate requirements across the SDLC, ensuring all specifications are met and enhancements are integrated post-implementation.
Business Process Improvement:
Apply business process re-engineering methodologies to enhance software process flows and improve overall project outcomes.
Design mockups and wireframes that adhere to UX best practices to visualize system functionality for stakeholders and the development team.
Communication and Collaboration:
Serve as a point of contact for requirement discussions and clarifications between the customer community and the development team.
Ensure accurate documentation of requirements, with strong emphasis on clear communication and organization throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Experience and Skills:
5+ years in eliciting and documenting system requirements through interviews and stakeholder engagement.
5+ years of hands-on experience in managing requirements throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
Proven experience in analyzing and improving software process flows.
Expertise in drafting user stories, use cases, and mockups/wireframes aligned with industry best practices.
Strong skills in stakeholder communication, facilitation, and organizational writing.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years with requirements management software such as Modern Requirements.
2+ years of experience with issue tracking software such as Atlassian Jira.
Experience working with state or local education agencies preferred.
