A prominent organization seeks a Facilities Manager to manage and maintain a significant building. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for ensuring optimal operations across a large and architecturally significant property.
The Facilities Manager will lead the design, management, and maintenance of various building systems, including mechanical, structural, electrical, fire protection, and acoustics. The role will also oversee capital projects aimed at enhancing these systems.
This position is full-time, on-site, and requires a hands-on approach with emergency on-call availability. An ownership mindset is crucial for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Modify building plans to reflect updates.
Document and verify materials and components for projects.
Manage building operations, inspections, procurement, and conservation efforts.
Supervise the performance of heating, plumbing, lighting, and ventilation systems.
Maintain accurate building plans and digital documentation.
Supervise contractors for compliance.
Coordinate building system maintenance and operations.
Estimate project costs and procure materials.
Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, and energy guidelines.
Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical, structural, and fire protection systems.
Conduct safety inspections and tests.
Requirements:
Architecture or engineering degree required
5+ years of experience in the building and construction industry.
Licensure and museum experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Familiarity with modern software tools for documentation and management.
