The Director of Recreation, under the direction of the General Manager, is responsible for overseeing all tour and recreation operations at Zephyr Cove Resort and Lake Tahoe Adventures. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our diverse offerings, including Marina, Snowmobile, and ATV Operations, ensuring profitability while delivering exceptional guest experiences.Job Responsibilities
Lead the tours and recreation team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and profitability.Oversee daily operations of all recreational offerings, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Monitor and evaluate operational performance, implementing improvements as necessary.Develop and manage budgets for all tour and recreation operations. Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess profitability, and make informed decisions to drive revenue growth.Ensure a high standard of customer service across all tours and recreational activities. Collaborate with the marketing team to create memorable experiences that attract and retain guests.Build and maintain relationships with local vendors, stakeholders, and tourism partners to enhance service offerings and create collaborative marketing opportunities.Ensure all operations adhere to safety standards and regulations. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement safety protocols to protect guests and staff.Recruit, train, and mentor staff to build a high-performing team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a positive work environment that encourages professional growth.Work closely with stakeholders including the Group Sales Team, Finance, Director of Land Operations, Human Resources, and others.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.A valid driver’s license.Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.Strong financial acumen with experience in judgment management.5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the tourism or recreation industry, preferably with experience in winter and water activities.At least 2 years of experience managing hourly and salaried employees including hiring, training, developing, and performance management.Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, recreation, or business is preferred.About Aramark
