You will provide direct leadership of up to 4 exempt direct reports and indirect leadership of a large non-exempt employee population.You will oversee the function to ensure accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget. Develop processes to ensure compliance and employee programs to promote an environment where employees are empowered and committed to the success of Grainger.In the Senior Manager role, you will be responsible for metrics affecting safety, quality, and cost. You will lead by example and teach your direct reports how to improve performance using a variety of continuous improvement techniques. Grainger aspires to be a local employer of choice. You will determine the engagement strategy for the department and leverage the Grainger Principles to influence culture throughout the building.You will report to the Senior Manager, Site Lead and this role is based in our Louisville, KY distribution center. This is an overnight shift. Relocation will be provided as needed.You Will:
Ensure goals related to operational performance, quality and positive employee relations are communicated and achieved through standardization, sharing of best practices, and continuous improvement.Implement staffing strategies so we can fulfill commitments to customers regardless of variations of workflow or business levels.Create a dynamic workplace that affects positive employee relationships by developing employee engagement and recognition programs and ensuring all employees are treated fairly, with respect, and have the tools necessary to perform their jobs.Provide coaching, feedback, and development to salaried managers including interviewing and training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, and recognition and disciplinary action.Develop procedures to improve inventory integrity and manage inventory throughput over $30 million and serving 100,000+ customers.Implement policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with Company, OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations with emphasis on hazardous materials and power industrial equipment to reduce work-related injury/illnesses, property damage and workers compensation cost.Demonstrate root cause thinking and lead or advocate for continuous improvement projects within the building and across the DC Network.You Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations or equivalent experience.5+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.Experience leading exempt-level leaders in a hands-on environment.Rewards and Benefits:
