Currently, the Bachoco USA family includes more than 4,000 team members who are dedicated to consistently producing high-quality chicken products and nourishing people around the world.Bachoco USA is seeking a Production Superintendent 2nd Shift in our Alberville, AL facility.Summary: The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that all plant operations on an assigned shift run in an efficient and safe manner to ensure production of first quality product to meet customer needs and specifications.Functional Responsibilities: Manage assigned shift in a continuous improvement environment Ensure that GMPs and safety guidelines are followed at all times. Direct reports include three to four production supervisors. Manage labor on assigned shift in a manner that minimizes overtime and produces the planned output of first quality product. Works with QA on assigned shift relative to product that is placed on hold. Interfaces with sales, human resources, research & development, procurement and customer service as required. Works with sales, research and development and QA on preparation and efficient management of customer plant visits and product tests conducted on assigned shift. Participates in interviews for subordinate supervisors Ensures that safety and job specific training are conducted on assigned shift. Ensures that assigned shift is prepared for customer and BRC audits. Other special projects as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in management or related discipline and/or the equivalent in relevant work experience.Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible positions in a production environment. Experience in meat/food production preferred. Experience or exposure to SPC in a production environment. Effective communication skills both written and oral. Successful experience with employee retention strategies. Effective delegation skills. Team builder and team member Good computer skills - Microsoft Office and timekeeping systems. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) desired.Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise hourly employees in the plant. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
