Cirrus Logic's DSP Firmware Team is looking for an intern who will be a contributor on a small, focused, multi-site team delivering embedded software and related tools. You will work closely with multi-functional teams including design, software, and systems teams to assist Software Engineers in delivering robust, scalable, and reliable software solutions to meet critical design objectives. This individual will assist with the ongoing development of a suite of in-house performance analysis tools used to ensure the reliability of key company products. This project has many moving parts, so the ideal candidate is self-motivated, unafraid to ask questions, a good communicator, and able to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
Responsibilities
Work with embedded signal processing algorithm engineers and applications engineers to assess objective and subjective performance of reference designs and verify firmware implementationContribute to the buildup and documentation of prototyping, development, and test infrastructuresFollow standard methodologies in algorithm verification and testingAdhere to coding standards as set by the team leadWork with third party systemsAbide by core Cirrus values such as Continuous ImprovementRequired Skills and Qualifications
You are actively pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical EngineeringYou understand fundamentals of digital signal processing and real-time systemsYou are comfortable with high level programming languages such as MATLAB and PythonYou are able to quickly understand complex systems with many moving partsYou have excellent communication and organizational skillsPreferred Skills and Qualifications
You are proficient with MATLAB/Simulink.You understand C programming for embedded systemsYou are familiar with the embedded DSP architecturesYou are familiar with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools and techniquesYou are familiar with the use of test equipment (Oscilloscopes, digital analyzers, data loggers)You are familiar with real-time systems rapid prototyping platforms (dSPACE, Speedgoat, ...)
This is a hybrid position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic. This position is available for the Spring 2025 semester only.
