We are also home to EyeMed, the fastest growing vision care company in the United States.GENERAL FUNCTIONSThe Sr. Production Planner Buyer is responsible for planning and executing the department's plan for product introductions in Manufacturing. This position interacts with internal partners including marketing, engineering and manufacturing to understand material and demand requirements.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyze, plan and execute all the material requirements for various eyewear categories, including active eyewearResponsible for building and fostering supplier relationships to ensure that completion deadlines are met per the master sales forecasts or customer ordersUsing data and systems, manage inventory levels to maximize manufacturing production plansReview and coordinate MRP suggestions to support MPS time linePartner with Planner Buyer(s) to create purchase orders to support MPS requirements and production goalsResponsible for expediting highly critical supplier orders that can have a significant delay and/or financial loss to the business as a result of unforeseen conditionsDevelop and maintain strong partnership with local and overseas suppliers to ensure the best value, highest quality and timely delivery for optimal inventory levels in support of production plansUsing available data, prepare procurement reports for Management teamLead and/or participate in lean activities (Consignment Inventory, Kanban Inventory)Partner with NPI team to support/lead Table of 4 project initiativesPerforms other duties and responsibilities as neededBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Business or equivalent3+ years of experience in Production purchasing and/or planning and MRP in a manufacturing environment3+ years in procurement and managing strategic purchases with proven record of improvementAbility to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.Strong communication skillsExcellent ability to multi-task and prioritizeExperience with SAP MM, PP and BWFactual and data driven decision maker with strong written and oral communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Software applications such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and WordPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related fieldAPICS CPIM and/or CPM certificationLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certificationPay Range: 80,072.97 - 109,544.40 Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
