Applications Engineer located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. Candidate should have experience with solid carbide tools and the ability to apply tools on CNC Centers in a wide range of metal work pieces. This role is responsible for working closely with KSPT field sales and manufacturer representatives to recommend and apply KSPT products at the end-user level, demonstrating "Value at the Spindle." Using technical expertise, the role provides cost-saving initiatives for customers and influences purchasing decisions. In addition to supporting the field sales team in meeting customer needs and contributing to company-wide revenue growth, this position provides valuable input into marketing strategies, market planning, and the technical development of products and services, with a focus on difficult machining applications. This position supports a lean and safe working environment while focusing on continuous improvement, quality, and support of teamwork throughout the Company.Essential Job FunctionsTravel extensively to meet customer needs and influence customers by determining the best products and application of products to satisfy the customer's needs.Provide training to field sales engineers and distributors on tool applications, benefits, features and use with support from manufacturer's representatives. Provide solutions on tool applications via technical expertise.Follow up on application recommendations, maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets. Communicate trends supporting marketing initiatives.Report on a monthly basis all field activities including business development, ongoing testing opportunities, results of completed testing opportunities, end user training, competitive data and other pertinent information regarding tool applications.Utilization of CRM program to communicate stage of opportunities and results.Utilization of Outlook Calendar for scheduling purposesDevelop and maintain a strong relationship with R&D to assist in product development and improvements.Report on market trends in machining techniques, material applications and competitive brands to the Product Management and Marketing Teams.Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff, distributors and customers.Ensure adherence to the KSPT ISO 9001:2015 program.Domestic and international travel in specified territory as required.Report test tool results, case study information, and document cost savings achievement.Help to support new product launch efforts by developing performance-based PowerPoint presentations for reference and promotion.Marginal / Less Essential Job FunctionsAttend assigned industry trade shows as a technical advisor as needed.Complete required trip reports, expense reports and other required documentation as directed.Required to learn and use CAM and related programs as needed. Will have strong interaction with tool testing associates.Note: This description reflects the principal functions of the position for the purpose of job evaluation. Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, engineering with sales concentration or a related technical field and 5 years of field sales experience, or equivalent metalworking experience and education.High school diploma or GEDAbility to read, write, and communicate in English.Other Qualifications DesiredTraining & ExperienceFive or more years of tooling application knowledge within industrial, automotive, aerospace, maritime or special application.Five or more years' experience as a sales engineer or technical support in the cutting tool or machining industry is preferred.Completion of KSPT Training Program within the specified time as indicated on the training plan.Complete understanding of manufacturing processes for carbide round tool manufacturing upon the completion of the training plan.Previous experience with assisting customers on problem analysis and problem resolution.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a wide-range interaction of internal associates and external customers and in a diverse atmosphere.Excellent time management and planning skills.Basic knowledge with PC, Microsoft applications and hand-held communication devices.Understand ISO 9001:2015 requirements.Broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with complex customer issues.Travel is required up to 70% of the calendar year.Benefits

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet requirements set byKSPT-G insurance carrier.Visual AcuityMust be able to visually examine tooling samples under varying magnification and read mechanical/tool drawings, precision measuring instruments and computer screens with or without accommodation.Hearing AbilityAbility to monitor machine sounds to identify correct grinding conditions with or without reasonable accommodation.Working ConditionsWell lit, climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Position subject to occasional light to medium lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending. Constant use of upper extremities with frequent gripping motions and wrist deviations. Exposure to hazards of moving equipment and automated machinery. Position requires prolonged sitting, standing and walking. Minimal skin exposure to detergents, oils and cutting/grinding fluids. Minimal exposure to fumes, dusts, and mists. Extensive travel is required.Additional CommentsAssociate is required to follow other job-related duties, subject to all local, state, and federal laws and applicable regulations.The incumbent must successfully perform all requirements of the position training plan.The associate must be able to maintain confidentiality as required with the position.
