As a Capital Lead Attorney, you will represent indigent clients when appointed by the court, prepare cases for defense and present cases in all phases of court proceedings.

This recruitment is utilized to fill a Attorney tier V position. Attorneys hired at tier V will be compensated at a range of $150,000- $204,000 annually.

The pay ranges listed above reflect the FULL pay range for each position. The tier placement and subsequently salary offer is based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other Maricopa County employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Juris Doctor or Doctor of Jurisprudence from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law schoolEight years of experience as a practicing attorneyMust be admitted to practice law and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona at the time of applicationValid Arizona driver's license upon hireEligible for appointment as lead trial capital counsel pursuant to Rule 6.8 (b) or (e), Ariz.R.Crim.Pro., by the time of hireWe Also Value
