System Administrator (Azure) - Onsite in Yadkinville, NC - Direct Hire - W2 Only*Candidates must be able to work on the clients W2 without a vendor or employer*Apex Systems is looking to hire a Full-time 100% ONSITE System Administrator (Azure) for our client based out of Yadkinville, NC.This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.Responsibilities:
Manages daily Service Desk ticket escalations while following the proper ticket-handling processBuild, administer, maintain, and support network devices and other systems in a physical, cloud or virtual environmentUnderstand/support IT managed and professional services catalogWorks with the Service Desk, peers, and/or vendor support to resolve projects, tasks, and incident tickets to drive tickets to a close within the established SLAsConsistently create, upgrade, and maintain our knowledgebase (KB)Administration and support of Microsoft 365 (M365) services (includes Exchange, Teams, Office Suite, and SharePoint)Actively respond to RMM (Remote Monitoring Management)/NMS (Network Monitoring Solution) alerts and improve monitoring as needed to meet or exceed SLAsEffectively resolve and communicate ticket resolutions that achieve the desired business outcomesProactively look for ways to improve service deliveryParticipate in service review and /or QA of individual and team deliverablesProvide coaching/mentoring for team members and peers in areas in which you are an SME (i.e.: filling in on triage and service desk responsibilities as needed)IT Process, procedure, and policy creation, improvement, and implementation in areas of responsibilityEnsures high-quality craftsmanship of all tasks while meeting deadlinesEnsures departmental policies and procedures are followedMaintains cooperative working relationships with clients, employees, and vendorsPerform other assigned duties as needed by the business
Technical Skillset:
Intermediate aptitude and experience with virtualization technologies with a willingness to learn (specifically VMWare and Hyper-V)Develop and maintain a secure, well-managed enterprise environment in Azure.Linux administration - intermediate as a minimum (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat)Windows Server Administration - Intermediate knowledge and experience with Active Directory administration and supportConfigure and manage the organizations Virtual Network in Azure, establishing core services and enabling Azure integration with existing networksImplement and manage monitoring and infrastructure tools for availability and performance.Create internal pricing models for Azure virtual machines and manage instance selection.Intermediate to Advanced Networking knowledge - Route/Switch, VLAN, Firewall management, Access List, VPN (preferred experience with Fortinet, Cisco)Credible and proven technical skills and critical thinking skillsMedian to advanced fundamental knowledge of SIEM, IDS, IPS concepts, and products a plus (preferred experience with Microsoft Sentinel).Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash preferred)Willing to update technical knowledge and skills through research, OJT training, or required certificationsStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across the organizationAble to work in a fast-paced, changing, and under-pressure business environmentPossess project management skills and consistently align with project plans and timelinesDemonstrate strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work with a team or independently and be self-directedAbility to maintain a valid drivers licenseExperience:
3+ years as a systems or Azure administrator within an environment consisting of 50+ servers while serving in an escalation or advanced senior role3+ years' experience deploying and maintaining Azure environment (ARS, Backups, Servers, Firewalls)Bachelor's degree in IT or Business-related degreeExperience troubleshooting systems and applications within complex enterprise client environmentsExperience working within an ITIL-aligned IT team with exposure to Incident Management, Change Management, Service Review, and Service Delivery best practices preferred2+ years' experience discovering, designing, onboarding, and managing cloud connectivity solutions for SMB clients3+ years of strong enterprise Networking experience , including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, and firewall expertise, with hands-on experience with Fortinet products and solutions preferred3+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments, including IaaS and PaaS.Hands-on experience with the Azure administration portal.Azure Solutions Architect or other industry-recognized certifications preferredEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
