The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience.As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guestsObserve to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact.Engage with guests in a genuine way, which includes asking questions to better understand their specific needsBe knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experienceThank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at TargetBe knowledgeable of GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed and priced for guestsAcknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruptionEnsure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categoriesExecute inbound, replenishment, backroom and signing processes for GM areasExecute processes including pricing, presentation sets, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areasUnderstand how operational procedures impact shortage, profitability, in store replenishment and inventory accuracyOperate power equipment only if certifiedFollow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progressDemonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and complianceWork in a safe manner at all times; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practicesSupport guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processesAll other duties based on business needsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORWe might be a great match if:Working in a fun and energetic environment makes you excitedProviding service to our guests that makes them say I LOVE TARGET! excites youStocking, Setting and Selling Target products sounds like your thingYou aren’t looking for a Monday thru Friday job where you are at a computer all dayBut, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team membersAbility to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scannersWork both independently and with a teamResolve guest questions quickly on the spotAttention to detail and follow multi-step processesCapability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environmentWe expect:Accurately handle cash register operations as neededClimb up and down laddersScan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 poundsFlexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessaryAbility to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shiftFind competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond at
