In this role, you will leverage your experience and insights gained from delivering systems to lead us in developing products that are both innovative and scalable. Collaborating with a world-class team of experts in motion planning, control theory, computer vision, machine learning, and robotic hardware design, you will apply the latest research trends to tackle complex real-world challenges. Together, we aim to achieve high-impact algorithmic advancements in areas such as scene and activity understanding, closed-loop control, robotic grasping, and manipulation in high-contact environments - each of which carries significant value for our current and future fulfillment networks.Key job responsibilities:Research, design, implement and evaluate complex motion planning, controls, and decision-making algorithms that improve the performance of systems deployed in real-world conditions.Apply recent advances in topics such as planning optimization, model-based controllers, or grasp affordance learning to our systems in the lab and in the field.Lead major initiatives, mentor more junior scientists, and raise the bar for applying science to scalable robotic products.Work closely with software engineers to drive scalable, real-time implementations.Collaborate with experts across disciplines including perception, hardware and software to create intelligent, integrated systems and solutions.Represent Amazon in academia community through publications and scientific presentations.Work with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations teams to iterate on systems design and implementation.A day in the life:Amazon offers a full range of benefits for you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
