My client, a leading provider of quality assurance and safety solutions in the construction industry, are currently seeking a
Building Enclosure Department Manager
to lead their growing Building Science Solutions team in Georgia, with oversight of regional operations in surrounding states. Specializing in building enclosure testing, consulting, and commissioning. With teams focused on innovative building enclosure systems for new construction and retrofit projects, helping clients ensure their developments are energy-efficient, safe, and reliable.Position Overview:The Building Enclosure Department Manager is responsible for managing technical operations, ensuring the financial success of the department, and driving business growth. This role will oversee all regional activities, including project execution, team development, and client relations. You will collaborate closely with business development teams to expand our services in the Southeast US, with travel outside the local area up to 30% of the time.Key Responsibilities:Ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to company policies on all projects.Lead and manage Building Science Solutions projects within assigned regions.Supervise and mentor department staff, providing training and development opportunities.Partner with the Building Science Business Development Manager to grow the business in the Southeast US market.Oversee business development, marketing, and sales efforts to expand our regional presence.Provide expert consulting, commissioning, and administrative services for building enclosure systems in new and existing projects.Conduct building enclosure investigations and assessments, including designing remedial repairs.Assist in meeting departmental financial goals and driving profit center performance.Prepare professional deliverables such as proposals, technical reports, and design reviews.Recruit, hire, and mentor new team members, ensuring staff are fully utilized and workload is balanced.Participate in industry organizations, contribute to technical papers, attend conferences, and engage with professional committees.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with 7+ years of experience in building enclosure systems, OR 10+ years of industry experience in lieu of a degree.Strong technical knowledge of building enclosure systems and construction techniques.Proven experience managing and developing both technical and administrative staff.Experience managing profit and loss (P&L) for an operating unit.Ability to manage small to large-scale projects from inception to completion.Capability to perform work at heights, including on ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, and roofs.Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and project teams professionally.Ability to travel up to 30% outside the local area, based on project needs.Valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Report.Why Apply?Competitive salary $120,000-$150,000 (Negotiable on experience)Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.)Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth.Work with a forward-thinking company at the forefront of building science and enclosure technology.A collaborative and supportive team environment where innovation is encouraged.
