Dean of the College of Communication, Information, and Media
Ball State University seeks an innovative, collaborative, and future-focused scholar and practitioner to serve as the next dean of the College of Communication, Information, and Media (CCIM). Reporting directly to Provost Anand R. Marri, the next dean will champion the college’s mission to develop ethical practitioners who stand to make a transformational impact in their fields and on society.Responsibilities include:Serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the college.Plan, direct, and coordinate the operational, personnel, budgetary, fundraising, and student activities of the college.Provide leadership and direction in the development and implementation of curricula and academic programs.Foster interdisciplinarity and promote open communication within and beyond the college.Effectively represent the college and maintain relationships with external constituents, including benefactors and alumni.Minimum Requirements:Terminal degree in a relevant field.At least five years of academic experience in Communication, Information, or Media.Experience delivering undergraduate and/or graduate curriculum.Advanced academic administrative experience.Experience in fiscal management.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D.Senior-level administrative experience.Demonstrated success generating external funding.Experience in fiscal and facilities management and in fundraising.Experience delivering both undergraduate and graduate curriculum.Ball State University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer that is strongly and actively committed to diversity within its community.
