A Day in the LifeThe person in this role will manage the global new product development portfolio for the CRDN OU (Coronary and Renal Denervation Operating Unit) and lead a team of core team leaders (CTLs) to drive the CRDN portfolio forward. The candidate must have strong business acumen, communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills, along with expertise in strategic and financial planning and investment and portfolio management. They will influence scope, schedule, and budget for CRDN development programs and be accountable to the VP of R&D and CRDN Product Review Committee (PRC) for portfolio health and execution. This role requires a self-starter with strategic and analytical thinking skills, flexibility, and the ability to navigate a dynamic environment. The role reports directly to the VP of R&D, responsible for the Global CRDN new product development Portfolio.
Lead Product Development Core Team Leaders (CTLs) and oversee CRDN’s New Product Development (NPD) Portfolio. Influence scope, schedule, and budget of NPD programs with Core Team Leaders.
Identify and mitigate risks across the portfolio, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address potential issues.
Ensure appropriate project resource and financial forecasts in NPD programs and drive accountability with core team leaders to align to AOP baselines.
With cross-functional peers, build effective core teams and provide feedback, coaching, and mentoring to leaders.
Monitor and oversee the progress of all projects within the portfolio, ensuring they are on track, within scope, and within budget.
Provide regular updates on NPD Portfolio health, risk, and execution to OU leadership team through PRC forum.
Collaborate with PMO portfolio leader to ensure adoption of best in class practices, tools, and templates for project, portfolio, resource, and financial management consistently across all NPD teams.
Collaborate with finance stakeholders and peers to deliver annual forecasts and portfolio scenario planning.
Collaborate with the RPM leadership team to ensure successful transition of NPD programs to post market.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of product development core teams.
Chair the Global CRDN Monthly Governance Committee and support cross-functional teams in portfolio and governance reviews.
Collaborate with R&D leadership and pipeline marketing to help define and manage the product and technology roadmap for the CRDN OU.
Gather field and customer insights on product applications and needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience with 10 years of managerial experience.

Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a matrix structure and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience assessing a portfolio – identifying and evaluating cross-functional dependencies and value acceleration opportunities.
Strong understanding of stakeholder management, budget management, and risk management.
Experience participating in and leading Product development teams at a portfolio level.
Demonstrated ability to develop Core Team Leaders and to influence senior management.
Experience developing and managing business case life cycle management – including pressure testing outcomes with key business owners and managing progress, risks/mitigations, and execution.
Experience effectively facilitating robust strategic planning processes, including developing compelling roadmaps, effectively driving cross-functional leadership forums to gain alignment on priorities and goals, while collaborating with business partners to measure progress.
Demonstrated ability to define and deliver solutions on schedule and within budget.
Must be able to identify and resolve project issues to meet goals.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, planning, and multitasking skills.
Demonstrated ability and experience in Portfolio Management.
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $252,000.00 - $378,000.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan. The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
