Position Summary

The Operations Director plans and manages the various operational areas of Beach Waterpark to achieve owner, team member, and guest satisfaction while meeting and exceeding financial objectives. This role includes oversight of Aquatics, Maintenance, First Aid, Security, and Park Services. The Operations Director is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the water park and requires excellent communication and computer skills. This is a salaried, year-round position.

Essential Job Functions

Staff Development:

- Develop and implement training programs for all operational areas.

- Conduct staff training to ensure high standards of service and safety.

Operational Management:

- Oversee daily staffing levels and park operations to maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment.

- Manage fiscal and budgetary responsibilities for all park operations.

Compliance Assurance:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and standards.

- Conduct regular audits to maintain safety and health regulations.

Safety Oversight:

- Assist management in ensuring all park areas are safe and compliant with safety standards.

- Respond to emergencies, providing first aid as necessary while ensuring personal safety.

Customer Service:

- Deliver exceptional customer service and foster employee motivation.

- Monitor guest feedback and address concerns promptly.

Employee Relations:

- Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters in accordance with established procedures.

Administrative Duties:

- Ensure relevant documents, checklists, safety inspections, and reports are accurately completed and submitted timely.

Innovation and Improvement:

- Implement innovative training techniques and contribute to operational success through special projects.

Essential Job Requirements

Physical Ability:

- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs and long distances.

- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Skills:

- Effective supervision, management, and communication skills.

- Proactive and innovative approach to job duties.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of prior management experience in a waterpark or similar environment.

- Experience in park operations, safety, and maintenance is essential.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Certifications:

- Recommended certifications include Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), and StarGuard Elite Certification (to be obtained post-hire).

Work Environment

- Exposure to outside elements within the park; duties may also include working in an office setting.

- Interaction with guests and employees; may involve attending job fairs and visiting local businesses or schools.

Physical Demands of the Position

- Requires talking, hearing, and listening.

- Ability to sit, type, and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds.

- Requires standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.

- Vision abilities include close and distant vision.
