primarily in support of NASA and the burgeoning commercial civil space market.Additionally, Leidos' Science and Infrastructure (SIO) group supports a variety of other civil market customers, including but not limited to: DOE, NSF, NOAA, DOI and US Army Corps of Engineers, by providing research and development, logistics, environmental engineering, and other mission critical support.The selected candidate is expected to work in our Leidos office in Webster, Texas. Travel is expected up to 25% of the time, with some remote work allowed when not traveling.As a
Director of Strategic Programs , you are expected to thrive in an environment where you are responsible for the management and execution of pre-award and post-award activities across multiple projects and business priorities. The successful candidate will identify gaps and emerging requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence, develop and drive formal capture plans, and monitor competitor activity. Additionally, this position will oversee strategic projects for the Division. You will assist in developing the overall growth strategy for SEMO and specific market offerings, as well as internal and external partnerships, business plans, and associated marketing with the Division.
Essentially, in this opportunity: you will drive Leidos’ expertise into new and evolving mission areas.Primary Responsibilities:Participate as part of the Division leadership team to support overall strategic planning and execution of activities which deliver Division growth.Identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business strategies that provide the business an opportunity to grow revenue.Participate in capture and proposal reviews to drive high capture quality; may lead capture efforts.Perform business development activities, such as: investigating and evaluating potential partnerships, joint ventures, new business/market opportunities and sustainability to determine if such activities are in line with the organization's overall strategy and vision.Continuously monitor the market to keep track of competitor developments and their impact on market share.Participate in business planning activities, to include: opportunity collaboration sessions and gate reviews, black hat sessions, win theme and discriminator workshops, and proposal writing and reviews.Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.Provide leadership and program/project management of programs and projects, as needed by the Division.What Sets You Apart:Bachelor Degree and 12+ years of related experienceKnowledgeable and current regarding NASA and commercial space senior leaders and decision makers, as well as other senior executives and leaders across the agency including personnel at Headquarters and at various field sitesExperience successfully managing multi-million-dollar business budgets – full P&L responsibilitiesDemonstrated experience and ability interacting and building relationships with key customer organizationsStrong collaboration skills and demonstrated experience building internal and external industry partnershipsDemonstrated ability to deliver exceptional results as a leader of matrixed teams across a variety of program/project typesAbility to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish solid working relationships with senior management, technical staff, division managers, and peersProven track record of successful capture leadership at a variety of acquisition sizesAbility to travel as required, up to 25% per monthAbility to use automated tools such as Microsoft Office to present ideas, information, and reports and a customer relationship management tool to track opportunities and manage pipelineUS Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security ClearanceYou Might Also Have:Experience with mission software supporting applications, cloud platforms, and frameworksEstablished relationships and experience winning new businessLeadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant program/project activities, including: building industry teams and assessing/executing strategic plans to shape business pursuits, in order to respond to and win business with new and existing customersA technical degree is highly desired.
