The University of Texas Medical Branch is actively seeking a Program Director/Associate Chair of Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Department Chair in fulfilling the vision and mission of the department. A mid-career Occupational Therapy faculty candidate at the rank of Associate Professor with full-time experience in an academic setting is strongly preferred. Experience in innovative education, including creating blended learning courses, would also be an asset.The Associate Chair is

a 50% administrative role that reports directly to the Occupational Therapy Department Chair, and provides effective leadership for the OTD programs including, but not limited to:Communication with faculty and students.Works closely with E-OTD site coordinator for additional location program.Program assessment and planning, including accreditation preparation.Primary and secondary teaching assignments.Resource management, student success and implementation of teaching and learning best practices.Participation in faculty evaluation related to the education mission.Teaching and advising.Research and scholarly work.Serving on departmental, school, and university committees.Faculty practice (optional).Position Requirements:An Academic Doctorate Degree is preferred.PhD degree in foundational discipline related to Occupational Therapy, such as Psychology, Rehabilitation Sciences, Movement Sciences, or another related discipline is preferred.Eligible for an appointment at the Associate Professor level.Has a minimum of six (6) years of full-time higher education experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience as a core faculty member in an ACOTE accredited entry-level occupational therapist education program.Should possess experience in mentoring junior faculty in development, teaching, and education research.Should have excellent communication skills including the ability to resolve conflict and transparency.An Occupational Therapist (OT) eligible for licensure in the state of Texas.Preferred Skills/Qualifications:Established record of administrative responsibilities and scholarly accomplishments.Evidence of extramural funding, supervisory abilities, and leadership roles.A solid record of clinical mastery.Income Package:
