SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, OSD, and international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defense Force. Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients' challenges.
Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients' success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.
SPA's International Defense Analytics Group (IDAG) provides timely and objective assessments to allies and partners of the U.S. to inform senior defence leader decisions. We combine military expertise with advanced analytic techniques to tackle our clients' most challenging problems. Significant current efforts are in support of the Australian Defence Force at both the Headquarters and individual military service chief level, delivering analysis and program support to inform major acquisition decisions and overall force design.
ResponsibilitiesYou will lead analytic projects in support of the Joint and Land Operations program advising the Australian Army. These projects include mission-informed research to assess enabling technology for military capability. You will be responsible for offering meaningful advice to help inform operational concepts and investment decisions for the Australian Army's future force.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science, Arts, or Engineering degree
6-8 years of professional experience conducting research and analysis in support of the Department of Defense (DoD)
Demonstrated proficiency managing analytic tasks, leading study/planning teams, and briefing senior officers and executives
Experience with enabling technologies (robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, etc.)
Active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain during employment
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree related to Operations Research or National Security Studies
10+ years of professional experience assessing enabling technologies for military use cases
Understanding of military operations (ground combat, fires, command and control, etc.)
Knowledgeable of the Australian Defence Force, Indo-Pacific theater, and emerging operational concepts/capabilities
