Construction DepartmentThe Construction team is responsible for the entire process flow of delivering the physical data centers from shovel ready state through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, and management along the way. Construction implements and executes upon the work product developed by the Development & Engineering (D&E) team. The team also leads Vantage’s build partners to success through technical feedback and review, and actively participating in review of schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight.

Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and diligent Senior Project Controls Manager to supervise and lead the financial aspects of our data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective construction practices, monitoring project budgets, and implementing cost-saving strategies while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of construction cost management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
This position is based on-site at our office in Denver, CO. or one of the major Data Center locations but we will consider fully remote candidates, as well.
Essential Job Functions
Budget Management: Develop, lead, and monitor budgets for data center construction projects, ensuring all financial targets are met.
Cost Estimation and Control: Prepare detailed cost estimates, track expenses, and analyze cost variances to ensure accurate forecasting and effective cost control.
Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports, including cost-to-complete forecasts, budget updates, and variance analysis to provide insights to project partners.
Vendor and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors, review bids, and ensure compliance with project requirements and budget constraints.
Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project budgets.
Process Improvement: Develop and implement cost control processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across construction projects.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other partners to ensure alignment on project goals and financial objectives.
Compliance: Ensure all financial practices adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction cost management, preferably within the data center or technology infrastructure industry or relative experience.
Strong understanding of construction project management, cost estimation, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in construction management software and financial tools (i.e., Procore).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
PMP or other relevant certification is a plus.
Travel required is expected to be up to 30% based on business needs.

Additional Information
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
